What to Eat When You Overeat

Fruits to eat when you overeat

We all have those days when we just don’t feel full no matter how much we eat, and to approach “fullness” seems hopeless. Overindulging takes over and in the end, we feel guiltier than ever. All the calories you are consuming keeps packing up and causes your body to work on overdrive, which then means your body is trying hard to correct all the damage that was done by the harmful free radicals. The more overindulging we do, the more free radicals are produced.

What are Free Radicals

Free Radicals are obviously dangerous to your health. They can be life threatening and even deadly. They are ions, molecules, and atoms that damage other molecules that are present. Although the body is naturally able to handle some of the radicals, with excessive intake and damaging, too many radicals can occasionally lead to severe illness and damage to the body. A poor diet, processed foods, and junk food are some of the factors that cause free radicals.

There is a way to reduce the damage that was caused by free radicals, and that is more in taking on antioxidants. Antioxidants prevent the free radicals from harming your body by neutralizing the effects of them.  What foods contain antioxidants? Fruits and vegetable.  Also, vitamins C, B12, and E have properties that contain high Antioxidants as well.

Fruit

Orange Juice

The best drink to add to your breakfast meal that will help fight off free radicals better than plain water or sugar water is orange juice. A study showed that people who added orange juice to their high-calorie meal had lower levels of free radicals. Orange juice contains flavonoids, which are antioxidants and similar in its effects.

Vinegar

Vinegar is known to be the best natural cleanser. Indulging in a carbohydrate- rich meal can spike up your blood sugar. That is why adding a tablespoon or a drizzle of vinegar on your meals can balance out your blood sugar. With its antioxidant properties, vinegar helps ward off free radicals to keep you living longer. Vinegar contributes to you weight loss by increasing satiety and reducing your food intake. It has an anti- obesity effect which is heavenly.

Spices

Adding spices to your meals such as a blend of rosemary, oregano, cinnamon, black pepper, garlic powder, turmeric, and paprika may help in reducing the negative effects of over indulging. When compared with two high- calorie identical meals, the meal that lacked in spices also lacked in antioxidants. These antioxidants help clear up the free radicals that are produced when you overeat.

Thanks for the post! Very helpful and informational, a lot of people are simply unaware of the damage they are causing to their bodies by eating junk food with little to no nutritional value.
