What is Diabetic Neuropathy Complication?

Diabetic Neuropathy, when diagnosed, is because of nerve damage to various parts of the body. You may feel tingling, numbness, pain and burning sensations especially in the evenings. Autonomic Neuropathy

This is diagnosed when these areas of the body are affected; the blood vessels, urinary system, stomach or digestive system and the sex organs.

When the blood vessels are infected with autonomic neuropathy you will experience symptoms of:

  • Dizziness
  • Low blood pressure
  • Vomiting
  • Having blackouts on standing
  • Feeling full in the stomach even though you have not eaten much
  • Having faster heartbeats even without exercising

Proximal Neuropathy

Focal Neuropathy

Peripheral Neuropathy

Peripheral neuropathy is nerve damage caused by chronically high blood sugar and diabetes. A common symptom of diabetic peripheral neuropathy is numbness. Sometimes you may be unable to feel your feet while walking. Other times, your hands and/or feet will tingle or burn. It may feel like you’re wearing a sock or glove when you’re not. It is the most common complication of diabetes.
